Quest’opera fa parte de “Le Moschine”, una serie di dipinti pop surrealisti a colori acrilici e pastelli su tela e legno, ispirati allo stile dei cartoon americani degli anni venti e trenta del ‘900 e alla pittura lowbrow e pop surrealista.

Bibendum, più conosciuto in Italia come “Omino Michelin” è un personaggio famosissimo nato in Francia a fine ‘800 per pubblicizzare pneumatici da bicicletta. Non poteva mancare come ospite nella galleria de “Le Moschine”, per raccontarci una storia che potrebbe essere riassunta nel motto latino “homo homini cactus” (era così, vero?).

Le scritte in caratteri cirillici non hanno un significato diretto, ma piuttosto la funzione di aggiungere un elemento indecifrabile, enigmatico e romantico, o almeno è l’effetto che fanno a me che non parlo russo. 

Il dipinto ha una cornice in legno dorato, pronto per essere appeso.

This work is part of “Le Moschine”, a series of surrealist pop paintings in acrylic and pastel colors on canvas and wood, inspired by the American cartoon style of the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century and by lowbrow and pop surrealist painting.

Bibendum, better known in Italy as “Michelin Man” is a very famous character born in France at the end of the 19th century to advertise bicycle tires. He could not miss as a guest in the gallery of “Le Moschine”, to tell us a story that could be summed up in the Latin motto “homo homini cactus” (it was so, right?).

The writing in Cyrillic characters does not have a direct meaning, but rather the function of adding an indecipherable, enigmatic and romantic element, or at least it is the effect they have on me who do not speak Russian.

The painting has a gilded wooden frame, ready to hang.
