Cartoons are the way of storytelling that has always come most naturally and spontaneously to me, and the "primitive" ones have a particular charm.

The Day of the Dead

El Dia de los Muertos is the Mexican Day of the Dead: it celebrates that special and unique day of the year when the world of the living meets, on Earth, with that of the dead. While Halloween represents a threatening afterlife populated by evil spirits, zombies, vampires, and witches, el Dia de los Muertos celebrates the dead with joy, friendliness, and nostalgia; with the pleasure of being together again, even if only for a day.

The Mortini series is animated by this spirit. The Mortini are not scary, macabre, or gloomy. On the contrary, they are cheerful, curious, mischievous, sometimes melancholic. Now, with the serenity of those who are free from the fear of death, the Mortini return with benevolence and a bit of melancholy to observe the rapid passage of life.
